Air Duct Cleaning

  1. VIDEO DOCUMENTATION:
Vent Vac Systems, LLC. provides video documentation of the cleaning process to ensure the quality of service provided. Also, it allows the customer to see before and after video documentation of areas where the ductwork was cleaned that they would not be able to access without our cameras.

  2. PREPARATION:
Before we start any job, we check the system for proper operation. This allows us to foresee any possible problems that may occur. If and when a problem occurs we inform the customer of any additional expenses that may be incurred during the job. Also, before beginning, drop cloths are placed in areas where debris may fall in order to protect the customer’s belongings. Some furniture may have to be temporarily moved but it will be put back in place upon completion of the job.

  3. THE RETURN:
The return allows the air to get to the system. This is where you will find dust and dirt that your filter does not catch. Vent Vac starts by cleaning the return grill by hand. Then we vacuum the return plenum with our special Hepa vacuum.

  4. THE BLOWER:
The second component is the blower. This is the motor of the unit. This round fan creates all the air flow. Vent Vac takes the blower out completely and cleans it by hand. We use a special non-acidic EPA registered cleaner. We then oil your motor before replacing the blower.

  5. THE EVAPORATOR COIL:
The evaporator coil is the cooling system. This coil cools the air before sending it back down into your home. This coil is where the condensation is created that will allow the mold to grow. Vent Vac cleans the coils with a non-acidic EPA registered cleaner. We clean the drip pan and blow out the drain line.

  6. THE HEATER:
When accessible, electric heater coils are vacuumed with a small brush.

  7. THE REGISTERS/ GRILLS:
The registers direct air into each room. Vent Vac takes each grill down and hand cleans them with a non-acidic EPA registered cleaner. Also, when necessary we will repaint the registers before replacing them.

  8. THE PLENUM:
The plenum is the main home of the mold. This box is also referred to as the distribution box. The air, after cooled or heated, goes into this box and then it is distributed throughout the duct work.

Here in this plenum is where the air stays the longest and is the dampest. Vent Vac creates an access into the plenum and cleans it thoroughly. First we place the ductwork under negative pressure with a negative air vacuum which removes debris and mold as we air-brush the plenum so that the dust and mold does not spread throughout the home. Next, we hand vacuum the plenum.

  9. THE DUCTS:
The duct work is where the air is distributed from the system throughout your home. The negative air vacuum is still connected to continue removing any debris that comes out of the system. This will allow us to take all the mold and debris out of your home and dispose of it properly. Then, we use the top of the line airbrush system to scrub the ducts clean. After we clean the ducts thoroughly we sanitize (fog) them with Foster’s 40/80 EPA registered sanitizing agent.

  10. THE REGISTER BOXES:
The register boxes supply air to the registers. Vent Vac hand vacuums and sanitizes each box with Foster’s 40/80 EPA registered sanitizing agent.

  11. THE RESURFACING:
After, the system is cleaned and sanitized we resurface (coat or paint) all the insulated materials throughout the system with Foster’s 40/20 (for example; insulated supply plenum, register boxes and any other materials that may be insulated).

  12. THE CLEAN UP:
When the job is complete Vent Vac picks up all the drop cloths, equipment and any trash that has accumulated during the job. Next, we vacuum the carpet, sweep the floor and replace all the furniture that we may have moved in the process. We like to leave your home as nice and clean as it was when we got there. Upon completion the unit is inspected for proper operation.
